Drive 320km north-west of Baku city and you will find Naftalan city – which boasts of large deposits of crude oil since the 6th century. The qualities of Naftalan crude oil include the medicinal properties of healing eczema, psoriasis (skin conditions), impotence etc.
This is the best place to be while enjoying bathing in a tub filed with crude oil. The Naftalan spa had been largely affected by the Armenia-Azerbaijan leading to its closure. However, today it has regained its tourist glory reputation with tourists increasing in thousands every year.
The Baku zoo is an interesting place to visit especially for nature and animal lovers. The zoo has many wild animals with some exotic animals like couples of Nile crocodiles, chinchillas, row deer, Egyptian dogs, and lynxes. Other animals you are guaranteed to watch include lions, tigers, Egyptian vultures, greater flamingo just to mention a few.
Baku Museum of the Miniature Book
Visit the old city of Baku, called the inner city and you will find the museum of miniature books the world. These books were published in the post revolutionary Russia and in the Soviet period. Three smallest books in the world measuring 2mm x 2mm are found in here and can only be read with magnifying glass.
